A designer who inspires me...
One of many of my design inspirations is Kat Tanita, creator of the blog, With Love From Kat. Long before she gained her esteemed status as fashion blogger and world traveler, she was actually one of my babysitters. I've always been drawn to Kat's blog and social media because they align very much with my design vision and style. Her blog's landing page itself shares some common elements with those of my biggest inspirations: Elle Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and even Sincerely, Jules. Neutral, classic, sharp, and clean. My design is greatly centered on these qualities, which are all things that draw me to Kat's brand as well as those of the magazines I listed. Aside from her overall design though, I am inspired by her go-getter attitude and accomplishments. I'm amazed by her success and ever-growing achievements. She started out by sharing her thoughts, styles, and ideas on a blog as a creative outlet, and has evolved into something much farther beyond just that. She now not only has her successful blog, but also has 300,000 followers on her Instragram, @kattanita, has launched a collaborative collection of leather travel accessories with Gigi New York, has been featured in Elle Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, and The Wall street Journal, has her own Travel App (and here), and much, much more. The thing I find most intriguing and inspiring about Kat and her blog is that she has fully established and developed an entire brand, which is a major factor in her success and large following. It just goes to show how important branding and design are in spreading awareness and making people memorable.
